Door, Lock & Window Repair in Brooklyn
A door that sticks in August and swings free in January isn't broken — the building is moving, and the door needs adjusting to it. Usually that's a half-hour job, not a new door.

What we take on
- Doors that stick, drag on the floor, or won't latch
- New locks and deadbolts after a move or a breakup
- Locks re-keyed so one key opens everything
- Closet and bedroom doors off their track or hinges
- Drafts around windows and doors before winter
- Torn screens and windows painted shut
Old buildings move
Brooklyn housing stock is largely a century old and sitting on ground that shifts with the seasons. Frames go out of square, and a door that fit perfectly in 1998 now catches at the top corner.
The fix is almost never a new door. It's shimming a hinge, planing an edge, moving a strike plate a quarter inch, or replacing hinge screws with longer ones that reach the framing instead of just the jamb. All of it is fast, and all of it lasts.
Locks
We install and re-key standard residential locks and deadbolts — new tenant, new roommate, lost key, or just a door that's only ever had one weak lock on it.
Anything involving a high-security or restricted keyway, or a building's master system, goes to a locksmith. Your super or management company usually has one they require you to use, and cutting them out creates a problem you don't want.
Drafts
Weather stripping and a door sweep on a drafty entry is one of the cheapest things you can do to an old apartment. In a steam-heated walk-up it won't lower a bill you don't pay — but it will stop the hallway cold from pouring in at ankle height all winter.
Quoted flat, before we start
We quote the whole job before a tool comes out, and that number is the number you pay. If we open something up and find a problem nobody could have known about, you hear about it the same day — with options and a price — before we do anything about it.
