What we do with your information.
Short version: we use it to quote your job and turn up at the right address. We don’t sell it, and we don’t send marketing you didn’t ask for.
What we collect
Only what you type into the quote form or tell us on the phone: your name, phone number, and a description of the job. Email address, street address, neighborhood and timeline are optional — the form works without them, and the only cost of leaving them out is that our answer is vaguer.
If you attach photos, we keep those too. They’re the single most useful thing you can give us, because they often mean we can price the work without a visit.
Why we collect it
To price your job, to reach you about it, and to find your door. That’s the whole list. We don’t build advertising profiles and we don’t sell, rent or trade your details to anyone — not to lead brokers, not to other contractors, not to anybody.
If a job needs a licensed trade we don’t cover, we’ll ask you first before passing your details to someone who does.
A note about photos
Worth knowing:photos you send are stored at web addresses that are long and effectively impossible to guess, but that aren’t password-protected. Anyone you forward a link to could open it. That’s a sensible trade-off for a picture of a broken cabinet hinge — but if a photo would show something you’d rather keep private, paperwork on a counter, a laptop screen, anything like that, crop it out or don’t send it. Ask us to delete a photo at any time and we will.
Who else touches it
We’re a small operation and we use ordinary tools rather than building our own. Your enquiry passes through a hosting provider, a database, a file store, and an email service, each of which holds it only so we can read it. We use a privacy-focused analytics tool that counts page visits — it does not use cookies and does not follow you around the web, which is why this site has no cookie banner to click through.
How long we keep it
Enquiries stay in our system so that if you call back in two years we remember the job. Ask us to delete yours and we’ll delete it — the enquiry, the notes and the photos — and confirm when it’s done.
What you can ask for
A copy of what we hold on you, a correction if something’s wrong, or deletion. No forms and no waiting on hold. Email hello@handygrandson.com or call (929) 500-4434 and ask.
Children
This is a service for homeowners and renters. We don’t knowingly collect anything from children.
If this changes
We’ll update this page. We’re not going to start selling your data and quietly amend a clause to allow it.
