Hands tightening the trap under an old porcelain kitchen sink
  • No job too small — twenty minutes is fine
  • Flat price quoted before we start
  • Same person at your door every time
  • You pay when the work is done

You’ve been meaning to get to it.

  • The faucet that drips just loud enough to hear at night.
  • The smoke alarm that’s been chirping since March.
  • The gate that doesn’t latch anymore.
  • The grab bar the bathroom should have had a year ago.
  • The TV that’s still in the box.
  • The lightbulb up there you’ve decided you’re not climbing to anymore.
  • …and the two you haven’t written down yet.

None of it is an emergency. All of it is annoying. And most contractors won’t call you back for a job this small.

We will. That’s the whole idea.
What we do

If you’d ask a grandson to do it, we do it.

Fix it

Leaky faucets, running toilets, sticky drawers, squeaky doors, patched drywall, touch-up paint, caulking, garbage disposals.

Hang it & mount it

TVs, shelves, mirrors, curtain rods, blinds, pictures, cabinet hardware, closet systems.

Doors, locks & windows

Locks re-keyed, deadbolts added, doors that stick or won’t close, screens repaired, weather stripping, storm doors.

Safety & staying in your home

Grab bars, handrails, better lighting on stairs, non-slip treads, doorbell cameras, smoke and CO detectors, ramps and thresholds.

Outside

Gutters cleaned, fence and gate repair, pressure washing, deck boards, hose bibs, exterior bulbs, seasonal storage.

Hauling & heavy lifting

Old appliances out, furniture moved, boxes to the attic, holiday decorations up and down, dump runs.

And the honest part: if your job needs a licensed electrician or plumber, we’ll tell you straight — and tell you who to call. We don’t charge for that answer.

How it works

Three steps. No runaround.

Tell us what’s wrong.

Call, text, or send a photo. A person answers — not a call center, not a form that disappears.

Get a flat price.

We quote the whole job before a single tool comes out. That number is the number you pay.

We show up and fix it.

On the day we said, in the window we promised. We clean up. You pay when it’s done.

The Grandson Promises

Six things we put in writing.

We show up.

You get a two-hour window and a text when we’re on the way. If we’re late without calling, the first hour is free.

The price comes first.

Flat quote before we start. It doesn’t change halfway through because the job turned out to be “more complicated”.

No job is too small.

Twenty minutes of work is still work worth doing. You will never be made to feel like you wasted our time.

You’ll know who’s at your door.

We text you his name and photo before he arrives. Same person, every visit, whenever we can.

We explain. We don’t talk down.

Ask us twice. Ask us three times. We’ll show you how it works and where the shutoff valve is, and we won’t sigh about it.

We leave it cleaner than we found it.

Drop cloths down, shoes covered, debris hauled away. Your home, not a job site.

Plus: if we can’t fix it, you don’t pay for the visit.

Meet the grandson

Hi, I’m Keanu Williams.

I started Handygrandson after helping my own grandfather with a list he’d been sitting on for two years.

He had called three handymen. Two never called back. The third showed up an hour late and left the mess in the driveway.

That’s a strange thing to be common. Fixing a cabinet hinge isn’t hard. Showing up when you said you would isn’t hard either — it just requires actually caring who’s on the other side of the door.

So that’s the business. I do the small stuff nobody else will take, I quote it honestly before I start, and I treat every house like it’s my grandfather’s. Because for a while, it was.

Pricing

One price, agreed before we start.

Quotes
Free. No trip charge to come look, and no obligation after we have.
How we price
One flat price for the whole job, agreed before any work starts. Not an hourly meter you have to watch run.
If something changes
We stop and tell you. Nothing reaches your bill that you didn’t say yes to first.

The honest bit: we’re not the cheapest in Brooklyn. We’re the one who shows up, quotes it once, and cleans up. If price is the only thing that matters to you, we’re probably not your guy — and we’d rather say that now than waste your afternoon.

For sons and daughters

Live far from Mom and Dad? We’ll be the grandson down the street.

You can’t fix a handrail from four hundred miles away. We can.

Set up an account for your parent.

You handle the bill, so they never have to discuss money at the door.

You get the photo.

We text you when the job is done, with pictures.

We tell you what we noticed.

A loose railing, a dark stairwell, an extinguisher that expired in 2019. No pressure, no upsell — just the things we’d want to know if it were our own grandfather’s house.

Questions

The things people ask before they call.

Is my job too small?

No. That’s the point of us. Most handymen have a two-hour minimum because small jobs aren’t worth their drive. We built the business around them.

Do you do electrical and plumbing?

We do the everyday stuff: fixtures, faucets, disposals, outlets and switches, toilets, hose bibs. Anything that needs a licensed contractor — panel work, repiping, gas — we’ll say so and refer you to someone good. We don’t guess with your house.

How do I know who’s coming to my door?

We text you his name and photo the morning of, so you know exactly who to expect. If someone shows up who isn’t in that text, don’t let them in and call us.

Do you charge for estimates?

No. No trip fee, no diagnostic fee, and no charge if you decide not to move forward.

Can I pay afterward?

Yes. On standard jobs you pay when the work is done and you’re happy with it. Card, check, cash, or Zelle.

Can my son or daughter pay for me?

Yes, and it’s common. We’ll set it up so the billing goes to them and nothing awkward happens at your door.

What if I’m not happy with the work?

Call within 30 days and we come back and make it right. No charge, no argument.

That list isn’t going to get shorter.

Call, text, or send a photo. We’ll tell you what it costs and when we can be there — usually within 90 minutes.
