Landmarked, and it matters more than people think
Much of Park Slope is a designated historic district, and the part that surprises people is that Landmarks isn't only about the facade. Their own rule is that an LPC permit is needed for interior work whenever that work needs a Buildings Department permit — which is most renovations. In practice they aren't design-reviewing your kitchen, and the paperwork usually clears in under two weeks, but it's a filing with a fee and a slot in the schedule. Skip it and DOB can't issue your permit at all. Anything visible from the street — windows, stoop, front door — is a separate and slower conversation.
